Start the year as you mean to go on, with fresh air, good company, and the beauty of the countryside. Join our Nature Conservation & Engagement Officer, Mollie, for a refreshing guided walk through the beautiful Ashdown Forest landscape. This relaxed circular walk (approximately 4km/2.5 miles) offers the perfect chance to stretch your legs after the festive season and learn about the area’s habitat and history.
We’ll start and finish at Broadstone car park (RH18 5JP, What3Words: magnetic.lows.ourselves) from where you can easily pop over to the Forest Centre afterwards to enjoy a hot drink in the café – a lovely way to welcome in the New Year.
As with any walk on Ashdown Forest there will be hills and uneven ground, so sturdy footwear is a must. Dogs are more than welcome to accompany their well-behaved owners – just remember to bring poo bags and a short lead. This walk will take approximately two hours, is free of charge and there’s no need to book – just turn up on the day. Unfortunately, this walk will not be suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs. Car parking charges apply.
