Nutley Windmill has stood in its present site on the Ashdown Forest since the 1830's, having moved to the site from a previous location in Kent. We believe it is the only working open trestle post mill in the country - what does this mean? Come and have a look! Volunteers will be on hand to explain how the mill works. Depending on the wind conditions, the sweeps may well be turning, but this can't be guaranteed.
This is likely to be the last Open Day of the year, and how long we stay open will depend on the weather and daylight.
We suggest visitors park in the Friends Clump car park and follow the footpath to the mill. This car park is now subject to charges.
