This talk, by Ian Everest, looks at life in Sussex during the period of the First World War, as well as events after the war ended. Sussex was a supply depot for items going to the front line, as well as a reception centre for the returning wounded. People could also hear the guns from the front, bringing events closer. Using period photographs, Ian will cover the area covering Maresfield, Isfield and Crowborough. As space is limited, please book tickets in advance.
