And in the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield exited the Montgomery Cup on penalties to Copthorne 2nd’s, drawing 2-2 in regular time before a 4-2 defeat in the shootout, while Ridgewood maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a close 4-3 victory over Ringmer 3rd’s.
Lastly in football, Nutley drew 3-3 with Cuckfield Town 2nd’s, as Maresfield Village suffered a heavy 8-0 loss against Marle Place Wanderers, with Hartfield coming out on top in their clash with Plumpton Athletic, winning 3-1 to climb up to third in the standings.
Finally in men’s rugby, Newick lost in the quarter finals of the Sussex RFU Salver Cup, being beaten 61-5 by Hastings & Bexhill 2nd’s.
