Elsewhere, a double from Devonte West saw Lewes return to winning ways with a 2-1 victory against Dulwich Hamlet, while Crowborough Athletic beat Beckenham Town 2-0, as AFC Uckfield Town came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Arundel, making it four games unbeaten.
Over to the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield secured a 5-0 win over Polegate Town, while Ridgewood managed a dominant 7-0 victory against the Cuckfield Rangers 2nd’s, as Barcombe progressed in the Somerville Cup, beating Reigate Priory 4-1.
Meanwhile, a spirited Nutley performance saw them beat Caterham 4-3 to enter the semi finals of the Malins Cup, as Newick fell to a 3-1 loss to league leading BN Dons 2nd’s.
Lastly in the men’s, Plumpton Athletic secured a commanding 7-2 win against Ditchling, while Maresfield Village suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat by Hurstpierpoint 2nd’s, as Hartfield lost on penalties to Oxted & District 2nd’s in the Parsons Cup.
Over to women’s football, Lewes secured their place in the final of the Sussex Challenge Cup as they beat Eastbourne Borough 8-2, with the Rooks looking in control throughout, while they will face Saltdean United in the final.
Finally in the men’s rugby, Crowborough secured a narrow 27-26 win over fourth in the standings Deal & Betteshanger.
