Beacon Academy Celebrates Year 13 Success on Results Day

Beacon Academy is proud to celebrate the achievements of its Year 13 students, whose dedication, resilience and hard work have been recognised through their A Level and vocational qualification results.

These outcomes reflect not only academic success, but also the determination, character and ambition students have demonstrated throughout their time at the academy.

Headteacher Keith Slattery said:

"Today is a day to celebrate our Year 13 students and everything they have achieved during their time at Beacon Academy. We are incredibly proud of the results they have achieved, but even more proud of the young people they have become.

These results reflect years of hard work, resilience and determination. Behind every grade is a student who has shown commitment, overcome challenges and continued to strive for their goals. Each student has their own story, and it is those individual journeys that make today so special.

Whether students are progressing to university, apprenticeships, employment or further training, they leave Beacon with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take their next steps. We are excited to see what the future holds for them and know that they will continue to achieve great things.

I would like to thank our dedicated staff and supportive families who have played such an important role in helping our students succeed. Their guidance, encouragement and belief have made a real difference throughout this journey.

To our Year 13 students, thank you for everything you have contributed to Beacon Academy. You have left your mark on our school through your character, kindness and determination. We are immensely proud of you and wish you every success and happiness for the future. Congratulations on your achievements and good luck with the exciting opportunities that lie ahead."

While we celebrate the achievements of all our students, some results are particularly noteworthy. In alphabetical order, the following students achieved outcomes equivalent to A Level grades of AAA or higher:

• Maisie Alexander achieved two Distinction* grades and a B and is progressing into employment in hospitality.
• Mikayla Anderes achieved two Distinction* grades and a B and will study Business and Management Studies at the University of Sussex.
• Natasha Beesley achieved Distinction*, Distinction*, A* and B grades and will study Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia.
• Ted Bentley achieved three A grades and will study Law at the University of Exeter.
• Olive Fox achieved A*, A and A grades and will study Liberal Arts at the University of Leeds.
• Jas Fry achieved A*, A and B grades and will study Film and Television Production at the University of York.
• Logan Griggs achieved A*, A*, A* and will study Mathematics at the University of Warwick.
• Esther Hall achieved A*, A*, A, alongside an A in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), and will study Psychology at Durham University.
• Joseph Harris achieved A*, A and A, alongside an A in his EPQ, and will study Ancient, Medieval and Modern History at Durham University.
• Lucy Jordan achieved three A grades and will study Chemistry at Durham University.
• Alyssa Marklew achieved A*, A and A, alongside a B in her EPQ, and will study Psychology at the University of Sussex.
• Isla Nash achieved A*, A and B grades and will study Sociology at the University of Sheffield.
• Toby Page achieved A*, A*, A and will study Mathematics/Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Oxford.
• Angus Rumm achieved a Distinction and two A grades and will study Law at Cardiff University.
• Joshua Solanky achieved A*, A and B grades and is pursuing university options.
• Archie Talbot achieved two Distinction* grades and a B and will study International Media and Communications Studies at the University of Nottingham.
• Hannah Walker achieved Distinction*, Distinction*, A and B grades and will study Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Leeds.
• Abbie Wells achieved Distinction*, Distinction* and A grades and will study Criminology at the Open University.
• Luke Wells achieved three A grades, alongside a B in his EPQ, and will study Natural Science at the University of Nottingham.
• Anoushka Wolfe achieved A*, A and B grades and will study Fine Art at Newcastle University.
• Eugenie Wright achieved A*, A*, A and will study Philosophy at University College London (UCL)
