Charity celebrates solar panel lottery funding

An Eastbourne charity is celebrating after receiving £11,935 from the National Lottery Fund.

The grant- from Awards4All - has funded solar panels for the Community Training Centre at The JPK Sussex Project HQ at Church Street, Old Town.

The Centre provides training and work experience to adults with learning disabilities across East Sussex.

Jill Parker MBE, Chair of Trustees, said: "We are thrilled that our application has been successful, and the solar panels will assist with the sustainability of our project for many years to come.

"Without the Lottery support, this would not have been possible, so we are very grateful to everyone who plays the lottery every week."

The JPK provides a Supported Living Centre with seven flats at the rear of the site - Gow Lodge - for people with learning disabilities.

At the front is the training centre, now run by SASBAH - the Sussex Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus - in partnership with JPK.

Jill said: "We have a fully functional premises, and I am delighted. Everything is running smoothly, and I couldn't be more pleased.

"The solar panels are a great addition for JPK."
