Fourth annual charity football match in memory of former colleague
This June 14th sees the kick off of the fourth annual charity football match in memory of Gary Townsend, former boss of Albion in the Community (AITC) and in support of local charity Forward Facing.
Organiser of the match Jadey Yesilada, was a former colleague of Townsend and created this event in his memory. The event itself takes place at the iconic Worthing FC and will raise funds for Forward Facing, a Sussex charity which supports children, young people and their families with life limiting conditions, cancer and bereavement make life long memories.
Jadey who is a full time wheelchair user himself with a passion for the game puts teams Gary Townsend United and the Brighton Old Boys FC to test, he works alongside local businesses to support the match, including sponsors LK Carpentry, Greenacre Recycling, Kingsway Electrical and Emlyn from Sussex Academies.
The charity football match is always a real community day bringing everyone together for a good cause "It is so nice for me to be able to remember my friend Gary Townsend in something I really enjoy doing and to be able to say we are going in to our fourth event is amazing. I couldn’t do it without the volunteers I get help from on the day"
