Charlie's Promise

On Sunday, there is an amazing charity concert in Buxted to raise money for Charlie's Promise.

Charlie's Promise is dedicated to helping the fight against the rising issue of knife crime in Surrey and across the UK. Charlie was only 17 when his life was taken at a house party in West Sussex. His dad, Martin, made Charlie a promise that he would spend the rest of his life educating young people about the dangers and impact of knife crime. Martin goes round educating people in many locations, including schools.

Jesse Wilkes was watching Martin's assembly at Uckfield College and was so moved by it, he just knew he had to do something. He had the idea to create 'Sing for Charlie', a concert dedicated to raising funds for Charlie's Promise.

The concert is taking place this Sunday 20th September from 6pm. There are many performances from members of the Uckfield Theatre Guild, including Ashdown Radio's own Kirstie Gladman. This is a free event to attend with donations welcome upon exit.

Please come along, be entertained and support Charlie's Promise.
