In 2025, the Christmas spirit in East Sussex was upheld by extensive volunteer efforts to support the vulnerable and those spending the festive season alone
In Wivelsfield, they hosted free Christmas Day lunched at the Village Hall, for anyone who would otherwise spend the day alone.
A dedicated team of volunteers from the Uckfield Rugby Football Club (URFC) and their families, delivered nearly 100 festive meals to vulnerable individuals and families on Christmas Day.
This community effort supported those living in several East Sussex locations:
The volunteers cooked, packed, and delivered two-course meals to help people who found themselves alone or isolated during the holiday. In addition to the home deliveries, club members also provided sit-down meals and transport at the Belmont Centre in Uckfield.
