The leisure pool at the Sovereign Centre in Eastbourne is scheduled to reopen on Saturday, 14 February 2026, following extensive maintenance and the installation of new interactive features.
Reopening and New Features
Managed by Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) under the Better brand, the leisure pool has undergone a series of upgrades including new tile grouting, repainted structural beams, and a new camera system for enhanced water safety monitoring.
The shallow end now features brand-new interactive water play equipment designed for children, including:
- An underwater-themed interactive wall with moving parts and water jets.
- A new toddler slide.
- An interactive mast featuring a tipping bucket, pipefall arms, and a large wheel arm.
- A "hands-on" wall with mirrors and tactile features.
Half-Term Opening Times and Sessions
For the February half-term, the Sovereign Centre has extended its hours and session lengths:
- Holiday Opening Times: The leisure pool will be open daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
- Session Length: Swim sessions have been extended to 1.5 hours to allow for more play time.
- Regular Weekday Hours (post-holiday): Once the school holidays end, regular leisure pool hours will be 9:00 am – 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm.
Special Activities
- Aqua Splash: An inflatable assault course will be available every day during the school holidays. Access to the leisure pool is included in the Aqua Splash ticket price.
- Big Wave Night: This popular event, which includes waves, music, and the flume, will continue to run every Friday from 5:45 pm to 7:15 pm.
