Former Lewes FC and Whitehawk boss named new Eastbourne Borough manager

Steve King has been appointed as the new permanent first-team manager of Eastbourne Borough

The former Lewes FC and Whitehawk boss joins the club with the immediate goal of securing their National League South status, with "The Sports" currently sitting at the bottom of the table but only three points from safety.

Management Details:-

  • Immediate Start: King takes over ahead of a home fixture against Ebbsfleet United on 10 March 2026.
  • Predecessor: He replaces interim manager Robbie Blake, who returns to his role as First Team Coach after securing six points during his temporary tenure.
  • Managerial History: King led Lewes to the Conference South title in 2007–08 and guided Whitehawk to the FA Cup second round in 2015–16.
  • Third Manager of the Season: He follows Matt Gray and Tommy Widdrington, both of whom departed earlier in the 2025–26 campaign due to poor results.
