Home Instead Lewes District and Uckfield Celebrates 10 Years of Caring with Community Fundraising Campaign

Home Instead Lewes District and Uckfield is celebrating a decade of supporting older people to live safely and happily at home with the launch of a special anniversary campaign: 10 Years Together.

Founded in 2016 with a simple belief that older people deserve to live well in the place they love most, their own home, the local care provider has since supported hundreds of families across Ringmer, Lewes, Uckfield and the surrounding villages.

To mark the milestone, the team will host 10 community events across 10 months throughout 2026, combining fundraising, storytelling and celebrations that reflect the relationships at the heart of their work.

Owner Alison Scutt, who opened the office ten years ago, said:

“Ten years ago, I couldn’t have imagined everything this community would teach me. I’ve been privileged to witness extraordinary ordinary moments – a client tending their garden again for the first time in years, a family finally breathing a sigh of relief because they knew their mum was in safe hands, and Care Professionals who go above and beyond every single day.

This anniversary isn’t really about us. It’s about every single person who has been part of our story. So this year, we’re giving back by raising funds, sharing memories and saying a proper thank you.”

Kicking off with the Companionship Café

The first event in the anniversary series will be the much-loved Home Instead Companionship Café, designed to bring older people together and help tackle loneliness in the community.

The free event will feature a live, interactive musical session with Movingsounds, creating a warm and welcoming space for connection and conversation.

Event Details:

  • Wednesday 25th March
  • 10am until 12pm
  • The Dorset Pub, Lewes

Older adults in the local community are warmly invited to attend. Free tickets can be booked via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1983880998471?aff=oddtdtcreator

Fundraising to end loneliness

All funds raised throughout the anniversary year will support Home Instead Charities, which works to reduce loneliness and isolation among older adults across the UK.

Over the past decade, Home Instead Lewes District and Uckfield has built a reputation for relationship-led care, where companionship is valued just as highly as practical support. As they look ahead to the next ten years, their mission remains unchanged: to help older people live independently and well at home, with the care they deserve.
