Karen said, "It was an honour last night to be re-elected as Mayor by my fellow councillors for a second term at Uckfield Town Councils annual statutory meeting alongside Cllr Spike Mayhew as Deputy Mayor."
Her full statement is here:-
I have been overwhelmed by the very kind and supportive comments and messages that I have received and it means so much.
As well as representing the Town Council in a Civic Role, the role of Mayor is very much about connecting the council to the local community and to support local organisations and businesses.
Like last year I will try hard to focus on this particularly through the People need People Project working with Chamber of Commerce and Wealden Volunteering.
As a council, we have another challenging year ahead of us, both in budget setting and in preparation of the new role of Sussex Mayor and Unitary Council .
As Town counsellors it is very important that we put politics to one side during these changing times and focus on the best outcomes for our residents and giving our staff and officers our full support as they work tirelessly behind the scenes to support us all.
Uckfield Town Councillors all take their roles very seriously, they all work extremely hard to provide the town with the resources and facilities to make it the very best place to live.
I am extremely proud to be part of that team.
Thankyou
