Following a report that a woman was injured during the theft of her car in Hove, a man has been charged.
Emergency services were called to Blatchington Road at around 5.30pm on January 12, where an 82-year-old woman was located, having been reportedly assaulted by a man before he fled the scene in her vehicle.
The victim attended hospital and has since been discharged, where she continues to recover.
On Thursday, 15 January, the victim's car was seen driving on the A27 by police. Following a pursuit, the driver was arrested in Lancing after being involved in a minor collision.
Billy Eyre, 33, of George V Avenue in Wothing, appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court the same day, charged with robbery, two counts of driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, two counts of using a vehicle on the road without insurance, and possessing a class B drug.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing on February 12 at Lewes Crown Court.
