A 60-year-old man from Uckfield is in a life-threatening condition following a serious collision between a motorcycle and a car in Newick on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
Incident Details:-
- Time & Location: The crash occurred at approximately 1:10 pm on High Street (A272) in Newick.
- Vehicles Involved: A car and a motorcycle.
- Emergency Response: Sussex Police, the South East Coast Ambulance Service, and the Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey, Sussex all attended the scene.
- Road Closures: The A272 was closed in both directions between Harmers Hill and High Street for several hours to allow for crash investigation work. Bus services in the area were also diverted.
Appeal for Witnesses:-
Sussex Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the collision and have requested that anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the event come forward.
