The Mayor of Eastbourne is inviting residents to usher in the festive season by joining her at two musical gatherings in aid of charity.
The Mayor's Christmas Concert featuring Archway Choirs promises an uplifting evening of beautiful melodies and yuletide cheer at the Victoria Baptist Church in Eldon Road on Friday, December 5. Doors open at 7pm with the show startingat 7.15pm.
Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for children aged 5-16 years, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Mayor's chosen charities - Eastbourne Street Pastors, a voluntary group providing essential care and support on the streets, and Forward Facing which works tirelessly to help local families affected by serious illness or bereavement.
The Christmas celebrations continue the following week with the free Inspiring Angels Civic Carol Service on Saturday, December 13. The event, featuring classic carols and a festive atmosphere, will be held at the historic Church of St Mary the Virgin in Church Street, starting at 4pm. At the end of the service, a collection will be made for the Mayor's two charities.
The Mayor, Councillor Margaret Bannister, said: "I am so looking forward to sharing the start of the festive season with our residents at these wonderful events. Both the Archway Choirs concert and the Civic Carol Service offer a perfect way to celebrate the spirit of Christmas while providing vital support for my chosen charities, Eastbourne Street Pastors and Forward Facing. I encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the music, and help us make a real difference to people in our town this winter."
