Mims Davies MP presents Copthorne Hotel Petition in Parliament

Mims Davies MP launched an official Parliamentary petition declaring the Copthorne Hotel to be returned to its former use as a major local employer, valuable Gatwick Airport accommodation and a highly valued community hub, in line with the Mid Sussex District Council motion passed in September 2025.

This online petition has been launched for those who would like to sign online and can’t provide a wet signature, this is different to the official Parliamentary petition, but Mims intends to refer to the number of signatures on this online petition when she presents the paper petition in Parliament.

Mims has been regularly fighting for the Copthorne Hotel on behalf of constituents who want the hotel back, from organising and hosting meetings with constituents, Councillors, Ministers, submitting Written Parliamentary Questions, raising the issue during interviews, and so much more. “I recently presented my official Parliamentary Petition on the Copthorne Hotel in the House of Commons.

The petition declared the Copthorne Hotel to be returned to its former use as a major local employer, valuable Gatwick Airport accommodation and a highly valued community hub, in line with the Mid Sussex District Council motion passed in September 2025.

Thank you to the 563 constituents who signed the petition, and the 1,364 who signed online.

I will continue to stand up for the people I represent and make sure their voices are heard in Parliament - thank you to all who have emailed me with their views and wishes to have the hotel back.”
