Motorcyclist in serious condition after an accident in Hellingly

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle collision on the A267, North Street in Hellingly.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 am on Thursday, 13 August 2026, leading to a full closure of the road in both directions. 

Incident Details and Road Closure

  • The Collision: Emergency services responded early in the morning to a crash involving only a motorcycle.
  • Current Closures: The A267 is completely closed both ways between the Boship roundabout in Hailsham and the B2104 junction.
  • Traffic Impact: This marks the third time the A267 has been shut due to a collision in the space of a single week, following two separate accidents on August 6.
