It's not the first time
Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has returned to Ashdown Primary School in Crowborough to speak to the new Year 5 cohort about the workings of Parliament and answer their questions.
The pupils have begun the autumn term by learning about the democratic system of the UK, the role of Government and Parliament, and international organisations. They had prepared some questions relating to their learning and quizzed Nusrat on the British law-making process as well as her role as Member of Parliament and Minister of State, and were keen to discuss issues close to their hearts including the problem of littering and how we can improve our care for the environment.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I have been visiting Ashdown Primary school for a number of years and I was pleased to return to speak to the new Year 5 about all things Westminster as well as matters which are important to them at home in Wealden. It was fantastic to see how engaged and curious our young residents are about the world around them and I was very impressed by their insightful questions and in-depth knowledge of topical issues.”
