Gareth Germer, 49, has joined Chailey Heritage Foundation as Chief Executive

Gareth Germer, the new Chief Executive at Chailey Heritage Foundation has vowed to build on already 'exceptional work and high standards.'

Mr Germer has vast experience in charities, having worked for the NSPCC, Scope, Rethink and most recently as Chief Operating Officer at Samaritans.

He's also worked in local government in both West Sussex and Bristol.

Praise was paid to his predecessor, Helen Hewitt, who he said 'made a huge difference to the charity during her nine years as Chief Executive.'

Speaking about the new challenge, he said: "It is is a real privilege to be working with our specialist staff and NHS colleagues, who together make a profound difference to the lives of the amazing children and young people who learn, live and grow here at Chailey Heritage."

"Thanks to the generosity of volunteers, donors and supporters, Chailey Heritage is able to offer a whole range of extra services and support to young people, their families and carers including Patchwork Farm and therapeutic horse riding."
