A person was sadly found deceased at the base of the cliffs near Eastbourne on Monday, 13 April 2026
Incident Details:-
- Emergency Response: Sussex Police were called to the scene at approximately 7:30 pm on Monday following reports of concern for a person's welfare
- Location: The body was discovered at the base of the cliffs after a search operation
- Current Status: Sussex Police stated that the death is not believed to be suspicious at this time
- Next Steps: A file is being prepared for HM Coroner, and the next of kin have been informed
This incident follows other recent tragic events in the same coastal area, including a woman who was pronounced dead after falling from the cliffs on 26 March 2026 and a man in his 20s confirmed deceased following a search on 4 February 2026
