Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare is calling on everyone to swap their usual outfits for something merry and bright this Thursday 11 December 2025 and join in Christmas Jumper Day to raise vital funds for animals in need.
Whether you’re at school, work, or celebrating with friends and family, it’s an easy and joyful way to support the hundreds of animals being cared for at Raystede this Christmas.
The Raystede team will be pulling on their most fabulous festive jumpers on Thursday 11 December, but if that date doesn’t work for you, don’t worry, you can choose another day that suits you. All Raystede asks is that you share your festive fun on social media using #TeamRaystede to help spread the word.
Wendy Bardsley, Head of Fundraising at Raystede, said: “Christmas Jumper Day is such a simple, cheerful way for everyone to make a difference. Whether you’re getting involved with friends, colleagues, or classmates, every jumper worn helps create festive memories and every pound raised helps change lives for the animals in our care.
“We suggest a £3 donation per jumper-wearer, but we’d love people to raise as much as they can. The animals at Raystede need your support now more than ever.”
Raystede continues to face enormous challenges, and this Winter will be no exception. The charity faces rising heating bills coupled with increasing numbers of animals arriving at the centre in desperate need of help.
Raystede receives no government funding, relying entirely on the kindness and generosity of supporters to cover the £6,500 it costs each day to care for the animals. The animal care teams will be working tirelessly throughout the festive season, including Christmas Day, to make it a special time for every animal.
If a Christmas jumper alone doesn’t satisfy your festive spirit, why not go even further? You could host a mince pie bake sale, raffle, or Christmas quiz, or even turn your office party into a fundraiser to help Raystede’s animals this Christmas.
Sign up today, wear your Christmas jumper on Thursday 11 December 2025, and help give animals at Raystede the happy Christmas they deserve.
