Rye Scallop Week returns for 2026

The event runs from Saturday 21stFebruary to Sunday 1st March.

This popular seafood festival celebrates the local harvest with specialized menus and events across Rye and surrounding areas like Camber, Hastings, and Bexhill.

A spokesperson said, "Rye Bay Scallop Week is all about variety. Expect scallops steamed, seared, tempura’d, ceviche’d, baked, buttered, wrapped, paired, puréed and probably surprises we haven’t even thought of yet. Whether you’re after a quick scallop bap, a long leisurely tasting menu, or a full-blown evening of food and music, there’s plenty to get your teeth into. 

Participating Venues:-

Over 21 venues have confirmed participation for 2026, offering everything from "scallop baps" to fine-dining tasting menus. Highlights include: 

• Webbe’s at The Fish Café

  : Known for taster menus and the annual "Scallop School".

• The George in Rye

  : Features wood-charcoal grilled scallop specials.

• The Mermaid Inn

  : A historic venue participating with specialized festival dishes.

• The Globe Inn Marsh

  : Offers a relaxed setting for fresh local catches.

• Marino’s Fish Bar

  : Provides traditional "scallops in batter" for a casual experience. 

There will also be live music nights, wine pairings, pop-up food events and scallop-inspired art workshops.
