Three men have been charged
Police attended a building in Hawthorn Road in the early morning on Sunday, November 30, after it was suspected that cannabis was being grown inside the premises. Officers entered the building and located plants and growing equipment inside.
Three men were detained in the nearby area and arrested in connection with the investigation.
On Monday, December 1, Mikel Luku, 22, and Ronaldo Pepa, 23, and Idriz Xhetani, 26, all of no fixed address, were charged with being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.
Luku and Pepa appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court later the same day where they pleaded guilty to the offence. Xhetani will also appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, December 2 to answer the charge. Both Luku and Pepa have been remanded ahead of their sentencing on January 5, 2026.
