The incident triggered a significant emergency response involving armed officers and ambulance crews.

- The Scene: Part of the busy shopping centre—specifically near the Holland & Barrett store—was cordoned off with police tape and guarded by officers.
- The Weapon: Witnesses reported seeing a knife during the altercation, but police confirmed it has not been located.
- Injuries: An 18-year-old man suffered a minor cut to his hand. However, initial police enquiries suggest this injury was actually not caused by the altercation itself.
- Additional Security: Armed police officers were also deployed and photographed outside the nearby Eastbourne railway station as part of the operational response.
