Students at Uplands Academy are celebrating an exceptionally strong set of results, reflecting the hard work, determination and resilience they have demonstrated throughout their time at the academy.
Those achieving a strong pass in English and Maths increased by 15%, with 73% of students achieving grade 4 and above and 52% grade 5 and above in both subjects.
These outcomes recognise not only academic achievement, but also the commitment, character and ambition shown by students as they prepare for their next steps in education, training and employment. In Maths, 77% of students achieved a grade 4 and 61% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher. In English, 82% of students secured at least a grade 4, and 64% achieving a grade 5 or higher. These achievements highlight the Academy’s commitment to academic excellence and the strength of its teaching and support systems.
The Academy also celebrated excellent outcomes across the curriculum. Creative subjects performed very strongly, with Art and Photography students achieving outstanding results that showcase their talent, creativity, and dedication. Headteacher Chris Connor said: "We are particularly pleased that these outcomes also continue an upward trend over recent years, demonstrating the sustained improvement across our whole school community and reflecting the collective commitment of our students, staff and families to achieving excellence." Zoe James, who takes up the role of Headteacher in September, said: "On behalf of everyone at Uplands Academy, I would like to thank our dedicated staff and supportive families, whose tireless efforts and unwavering support have helped guide our students to success. Whether students are progressing to sixth form, college, apprenticeships or other exciting opportunities, we wish them every success as they begin the next stage of their journey."
Students with particularly outstanding results include: Lucie Allen, Ophelia Murrell, Issac Gingell, Henry Burchett, Peyton Moore, Olivia El Chamma, Ella Belling, Alice Skalska and Sofia Capone, all of whom achieved mainly grades 7, 8 and 9. Looking Ahead Prospective students and families are warmly invited to attend Uplands Academy Open Day on Saturday 10 October 2026 from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
