Wealden receives wellbeing accreditation

Promoting and encouraging wellbeing among staff in the workplace at Wealden District Council has been recognised with a coveted award.

The council is the first local authority in East Sussex to be accredited with a bronze in the Wellbeing at Work Award.

The new award was presented to Wealden council officials by East Sussex County Council in recognition of Wealden’s wellbeing initiatives and programmes that support staff wellbeing. This includes Coffee Roulette - a virtual coffee meet randomly pairing two staff members from across the company, cycle to work scheme, flexible working and the introduction of mental health first aiders.

Wealden District Council’s portfolio holder for Human Resources Councillor Roy Galley said, “Wealden council has a reputation as a good place to work and we take great care in looking after and valuing our staff. This award is a testament to the work those within the council have done over a long period of time.

“I would like to thank the officers who helped us achieve this award and we are very proud to be the first council in East Sussex to gain this accreditation.”
