Lewes saw their important match with Cray Valley suspended on Saturday late in the second half after a nasty injury to defender Marcel McIntosh, with The Rooks leading 2-0 before the injury, and will be back in action tomorrow when they welcome Dulwich Hamlet to the Dripping Pan.
Elsewhere, the torrential conditions this week meant just one of our remaining twelve men’s sides were able to see their match to completion, with Newick being unrewarded for getting their game started as they exited the Parsons Cup after a 3-2 defeat against AFC Varndeanians 3rd’s.
And in women’s football, Lewes are out of the FA Women’s Cup after a 4-0 loss against Charlton, with The Rooks struggling in a one sided first half in which they conceded three against their opposition from the league above.
Now in men’s rugby, Heathfield & Waldron fell to a heavy 26-3 defeat against top of the league Canterbury 2nd’s, while Crowborough lost by 26-12 against Beccehamian.
Finally in rugby, Uckfield suffered their first defeat of the season after narrowly losing 10-5 against Brighton 2nd’s, but they remain top of their division by nine points ahead of Pulborough.
