In football, Lewes ensured their month finished on a high note and ended their run of four straight losses after beating Canvey Island 2-1 at home, meaning The Rooks jumped up to fifth in the table and back in the playoff spots.
Elsewhere, Crowborough Athletic looked back to their best as they comfortably beat a strong Crawley Down Gatwick side 4-0, while AFC Uckfield Town saw their tie with Worthing United postponed due to the weather.
In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield narrowly lost 3-2 away to Crowhurst, while Ridgewood came close to claiming their first league win of the season, eventually drawing 1-1 with Ringmer AFC, as Barcombe suffered a 2-1 loss versus the Cuckfield Rangers 2nd’s.
Meanwhile, Buxted kept their unbeaten start to the season alive after drawing 2-2 with league leading BN Dons after both sides were reduced to ten men in the second half, with Nutley climbing upto fifth in their league after beating The View 2-1.
Lastly in football, Maresfield Village made it into the Brian Hall Trophy semi finals after beating Hurstpierpoint 3rd’s in an entertaining 6-3 matchup, while Newick were defeated for the first time this season in their narrow 1-0 loss to Lindfield 3rd’s, as Hartfield extended their unbeaten run to seven after thrashing Maresfield Village 2nd’s 8-1.
And finally in Rugby, Newick remain bottom of their division after falling to a 27-10 defeat against East Grinstead 2nd’s, although they still have multiple games in hand on the teams around them.
