Sussex recovered from a poor start in Day 1 of their County Championship clash against Warwickshire, trailing by 372 runs for seven, after losing the toss and struggling to contend with a strong performance early doors from the visitors, before a late flurry of three wickets helped bring Paul Farbrace’s side back into contention ahead of today’s action.

Over to local cricket, as Crowborough returned to winning ways, dispatching Little Common Ramblers 2nd’s with a four-wicket victory, while Uckfield Anderida claimed their first win of the season, overcoming Crowhurst Park 3rd XI by six wickets, as Buxted Park drew with Worthing.

Elsewhere, Heathfield Park fell to a 68 run defeat against Brighton Dome Mission, as Newick claimed a 77 run victory versus Hailsham 2nd’s, while Isfield kept their good form going beating Lewes Priory by 140 runs, now sitting 12 points behind top of the league Eastbourne 2nd’s but with a game in hand.

 Meanwhile, Plumpton & East Chiltington came out on top in their clash against Barcombe, winning by seven wickets, as Fletching earned a five wicket win versus Crowhurst Park 2nd’s, as Rotherfield lost by 86 runs against Lewes St Michaels.

Finally, Nutley’s 143 run victory over Mayfield 3rd’s sees them climb up to seventh, as Blackboys lost by just 19 runs against Pevensey, while Hadlow Down fell to a 39 run defeat versus St Peter's 5th’s.
