A look at the local sporting fixtures for the first weekend of 2026
Eastbourne Borough are away to Slough this weekend, with Tommy Widdringtons side looking to reduce their current four point gap to safety and build on a hard fought midweek win.
Elsewhere, Lewes will travel to face Burgess Hill, with two points separating the sides as they sit just outside the playoffs, while Crowborough Athletic visit a Hastings United side they are level on points with, with Jarvis Brook away against fourth in their league Worthing United.
Over to the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield are at home against third from bottom Reigate Priory 2nd’s, as Barcombe look to welcome Buxted as they aim to remain top of the standings, while Ridgewood will be hoping to close their two point gap to the leaders when they visit Willingdon Athletic.
Meanwhile, Newick will welcome Montpellier Villa, as Nutley travel away to face the Soverign Saints 2nd’s.
Lastly for the men’s, Hartfield are at home to second in the league Keymer & Hassocks, while Plumpton Athletic play away to The View, with Maresfield Village hosting Hurstpierpoint 2nd’s.
Finally in women’s football on Sunday, Lewes are back at the Dripping Pan as they welcome Exeter City, who sit sixth in the standings, one point above The Rooks who find themselves in eighth.
