Sussex Cricket are back in County Championship actions this morning as they travel to face Hampshire, in the first meeting between the two sides in the competition for over a decade, as Hampshire sits one place above Sussex in fifth, with four points separating the two sides while both have won two of their opening six fixtures.
In terms of team news, Paul Farbrace has named a rotated 14 man squad, with Daniel Hughes not included, with his partner expecting the birth of their child, as Ollie Robinson also misses out after suffering an ankle injury, while three players return to the squad for the first time this season, including Henry Crocombe, who returns from his shoulder injury.
Looking at local cricket now, Crowborough can make it three wins on the trot when they visit Iden, while Uckfield Anderida will welcome Sidley, as Buxted Park play at home against Hastings & St Leonards Priory.
Elsewhere, Heathfield Park will travel to face Hastings & St Leonards Priory 2nd’s, with Newick visiting third place Herstmonceux, as second in the league Isfield play at home against Buxted Park 2nd’s.
Meanwhile, Barcombe are hosting Brighton & Hove 3rd’s, as Plumpton & East Chiltington welcome Preston Nomads 3rd’s, while Fletching play at home against Battle, as Rotherfield travel to face Linden Park 3rd’s.
Lastly for the cricket, Nutley are hosting Hailsham 3rd’s, while Blackboys look to visit bottom of the league Mayfield 3rd’s, as Hadlow Down play away against Burgess Hill 4th’s.
Finally now in the bowls, Saturday’s fixtures will see Crowborough host Frant, as Uckfield play their first of two Horam League fixtures this weekend away to Hellingly, while on Sunday, Crowborough are facing Pembury, with Uckfield playing Groombridge at home.
