In the Southern Combinations Leagues, AFC Uckfield Town conceded in the 87th minute to lose 1-0 to Selsey, while Jarvis Brook’s 2-0 win against East Preston sees them climb back up to fifth.
Over to the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield fell to a 4-0 defeat versus Westfield, while Ridgewood beat Seaford Town 2nd’s 2-0 to progress in the Somerville Cup, with Barcombe moving to the top of their league after a 3-0 victory against Horsted Keynes.
Meanwhile, Buxted secured a promising 4-2 win versus the Cuckfield Rangers 2nd’s, as Nutley earned an emphatic 5-1 win against Polegate Town 2nd’s that moves them up to fourth, with Newick claiming a close 2-1 win away to Cuckfield Town Development.
Lastly in the men’s, Hartfield fell to a 3-1 defeat against Marle Park Wanderers, while Maresfield Village came out the wrong end of an entertaining 6-3 clash with AFC Varndeanians 3rd’s, as Plumpton Athletic narrowly lost 2-1 against Keymer & Hassocks.
Finally in women’s football, Lewes are through to the second round of the FA Women’s Cup after a strong 4-0 victory over Corsham Town.
