Eastbourne Borough’s FA Trophy campaign was ended after a tight 3-2 defeat versus Dorking Wanderers, while Lewes fell to a 3-0 loss against Wingate & Finchley, with Crowborough Athletic losing 3-1 to Sheppey United.
In the Southern Combinations, AFC Uckfield Town suffered a heavy 9-1 defeat away to Reigate Priory, while Jarvis Brook conceded in the 93rd minute to lose 3-2 against Oakwood.
Over to the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield lost 1-0 to the Cuckfield Rangers, as Barcombe saw their cup tie with Jarvis Brook 2nd’s postponed, while Buxted progressed in the Sussex Junior Challenge Cup by comfortably dispatching TD Shipley 3rd’s 4-0.
Meanwhile, Newick also saw their match against AFC Hurst called off, as a hattrick from Jack Roberts helped Nutley defeat Portslade Athletic 4-1, to move to the top of the standings, two points ahead of second place but having played one game extra.
Finally, Hartfield’s match with Keymer & Hassocks failed to beat the elements, as Maresfield Village fell to a 4-1 defeat to new league leaders Ansty FC 2nd’s, while Plumpton Athletic progressed into the third round of the Parsons Cup with a strong 6-1 victory against Crawley United 2nd’s, with a remarkable five goal haul from Aden Manning.
