Ashdown Retro now on air!

Ashdown Retro plays the soundtrack to your life online and through the Ashdown Radio app

The new 24-hour radio station offers a mix of music from the 1960s through to 1999.

The station arrives at a time of significant evolution in the radio landscape. While major media groups like Global and Bauer have consolidated many local outlets into national brands like Heart and Capital, independent launches like Ashdown Radio and Ashdown Retro are seeking to return "local" to the airwaves.

Ashdown Radio director Ryan Millns said, "I want this to be a platform that truly represents our listeners. The station will initially offer our current FM advertisers free advertising on Ashdown Retro for the remainder of 2026. This is our commitment to them and enables us to give something back to the businesses that have supported us since the launch of Ashdown Radio in 2022.

Reflecting modern listening habits—where approximately 75% of the UK population now listens to radio digitally—the new station will be available online via Ashdown Radio's website and dedicated app.
