A disused multi-storey car park is set to be demolished and will make way for new housing in Eastbourne.
Elstree Land Elstree Land is a specialist residential property development company covering the Thames Valley, London & South East.
They submitted plans last year for a five-storey building with 101 flats on the site of the unused JCP car park in Junction Road, Eastbourne.
The car park, which had about 1,015 spaces, has been closed for several years, and has been the subject to vandalism and anti-social behaviour in the past.
The plans have now been approved by Eastbourne Borough Council.
The new block will have 27 one-bedroom homes, 64 two-bedroom homes, and ten three-bedroom homes.
There will be 60 unallocated car parking spaces and one cycle parking space per bedroom. Access will be from Junction Road.
The height of the new building will be 1.65m less than the current structure.
A Section 106 agreement was reached between Elstree Land, Eastbourne Borough Council, and East Sussex County Council.
