Emergency services were called to Eastbourne Railway Station on Thursday, July 2, following reports of a sofa on fire. 

Incident Details

  • Time of Call: The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 8:21 PM.
  • Response: Firefighters quickly attended the scene and used one hose reel jet to successfully extinguish the blaze.
  • Police Presence: Sussex Police were also requested to attend the station to assist.
  • Resolution: A formal "stop message" indicating the situation was under control was logged just nine minutes later at 8:30 PM.
