Every September, a group of around 70 disabled adults, volunteers and staff enjoy a fantastic weekend away at an outdoor activity centre in West Sussex.
They all have the most amazing time - but it costs around £10,000. So can you help?
SASBAH is the Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, supporting around 1,000 people across Sussex.
This is the charity which organises the 'Breakaway' weekend every year, and now it's raising funds to make it all happen.
SASBAH Chairman Tim McDermott Roe is organising the charity's 32nd Golf Day on Wednesday June 10 starting at 1.30pm- but before you non-golfers switch off, this appeal isn't just aimed at players.
Money raised will directly go to fund Breakaway 2026.
Here's Tim: 'As a charity, we are incredibly proud to organise Breakaway each year - it's great both for those who go for three days, and also it's valuable respite care for families and carers.
"You would be amazed at some of the activities they take part in at Lodge Hill Centre near Pulborough in West Sussex - abseiling, archery, climbing, “we cycle too bikes”, zip lines climbing, shelter building, tunnelling along with loads of indoor games and evening entertainment..
"I'm a keen golfer and I want to give my bit back to the charity I have been involved with for 30 years. SASBAH does amazing work across Sussex and I am proud to be chairman."
Players and sponsors are both needed for the Golf Day, being held at Haywards Heath Golf Club in High Beech Lane.
There will be a SASBAH trophy for the winners, individual and team prices, prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin, then a dinner with raffle.
Tim said: "Our appeal is both for individual golfers or groups who wish to take part, and also companies who may want to give their staff or customers a treat. Companies can also get involved by donating prizes for auction or the raffle or sponsoring a hole, all to help a local charity”.
"You can enter individually or as a team of four. The £75 includes coffee and bacon roll, 18 holes of golf and a two-course dinner. You can bring extra guests for dinner at £25 per head.
"It really will be a very special day, making Breakaway possible once again, and putting a smile on all those young faces again."
