The Children with Cancer Fund is a local, independent non-profit charity that provides vital emotional and practical relief to children up to 18 years old and their families who are suffering from or recovering from cancer.
The general manager of The Horse & Groom (Harvester Polegate) Tom, along with his 3 children and restaurant waitress Kat, (who loves an excuse to run, unlike Tom!) have been signed up to run 5km each.
This is a total of 25km between them and will take place on Saturday 30th May, as part of Children With Cancer Funds Run To Run Event along The Cuckoo Trail.
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a keen runner, fancy a nice stroll or want to bring your dog along too!
Meeting on the playing fields at Polegate School with the run starting from the School Lane, Polegate entrance to the Cuckoo Trail, we have various distances on offer including a mini mile for families and little ones, a 5k and 10k.
All funds raised will help us to continue our vital work supporting over 150 families across East Sussex, Brighton and Hove who are affected by childhood cancer.

The staff at The Horse & Groom (Harvester Polegate) are keen to raise as much money as possible and have collection buckets throughout the restaurant. They are also running a ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ to further raise funds and awareness for the charity throughout half term.
Not only that, if you are taking part in the event, you can claim 20% off your food bill on the race day as well! You just need to bring your medal.
