A local councillor from Seaford has been assaulted after confronting men about erecting flags in the town.
The woman in her 40s, is said to have approached them after she spotted them putting up flags on lampposts on the A259 in Seaford.
A disagreement broke out and it's being reported that she was pushed to the floor by the two men.
Lewes District Council this afternoon have confirmed that the woman is a district councillor.
Sussex Police have also confirmed that they are investigating reports of a woman being assaulted in Seaford on Monday evening.
