Sussex will be looking to bounce back from a bad result last time out tomorrow, when they visit Yorkshire in the County Championship, with the home team sitting second from bottom in the North having drawn their most recent fixture, while Paul Farbrace’s side will be hoping to improve on their recent form, having won only one of their last seven games in all competitions.

Looking at the local cricket from the weekend now , Crowborough lost by just nine runs to Iden, while Uckfield Anderida fell to a four wicket defeat against top of their league Sidley, with Buxted Park losing by 82 runs to Hastings & St Leonards Priory. 

Elsewhere, Heathfield Park earned a strong seven wicket victory against Hastings & St Leonards Priory 2nd’s, while Newick fell to a 166 run defeat versus Herstmonceux, with top of the table Isfield making it nine wins on the bounce as they beat Buxted Park 2nd’s by six wickets.

 Meanwhile, Plumpton & East Chiltington lost by five wickets to an inform Preston Nomads 3rd’s, with Barcombe beaten by 64 runs in their fixture with Brighton & Hove 3rd’s, as Fletching narrowly beat Battle in a tight 20 run contest.

Lastly in cricket, Rotherfield lost to Linden Park 3rd’s by four wickets, while Blackboys managed a strong 157 run victory over bottom of their league Mayfield 3rd’s, as Nutley suffered a heavy ten wicket loss against Hailsham 3rd’s, with Hadlow Down beating Burgess Hill 4th’s by 147 runs.

Finally in football, Crowborough Athletic drew 1-1 with Balham in their final pre-season fixture before they start their first Isthmian South East campaign, while AFC Uckfield Town ended their pre-season losing 3-1 to Upper Beeding at The Oaks.
