Man, 89, hospitalised with ‘significant injuries’ after serious collision in East Sussex

An 89-year-old man remains in hospital with significant injuries following a serious collision in Brighton, East Sussex, that occurred on 23 January 2026.

Incident Details

  • Location: London Road, Brighton, just south of the Carden Avenue mini roundabout.
  • Time: Between approximately 4:15 pm and 4:45 pm.
  • Circumstances: The 89-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car. The vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene.

Sussex Police are currently appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to assist their investigation:
