A planning application to convert a private field into a dog walking field has sparked mixed reactions with Crowborough residents.
The site is located on Burnt Oak Road, between High Hurstwood and Crowborough.
The dog walking field has been open for business since June 2025. The application says it provides a "vital facility" for dogs and their owners.
The field operates daily from 6am to 10pm and is fenced around its perimeter.
The plans have drawn both support and criticism from the community, with 36 letters of support and nine objections so far.
Some local residents have stated that since the dog walking field opened, they've been disturbed by dogs barking, noise from vehicles, doors slamming and loud voices.
Others state that the enclosed field is an eye-sore and an ugly blot on a once beautiful area.
Others state that it is a great asset to have on the doorstep and is a great place for dogs to walk in beautiful surroundings.
The application remains open for public comment until December 8, and can be viewed on the Wealden District Council planning portal using the reference WD/2025/2297/FR.
