SASBAH (the Sussex Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus) and St Wilfrid’s Hospice have been selected as the two primary beneficiaries of the inaugural Eastbourne Community Awards 2026.
The ceremony is a joint project organised by Coda Pharmacy, Bournefree Magazine, and the Glass House restaurant.

- Purpose: To celebrate the local heroes, volunteers, businesses, and organisations making a positive difference in Eastbourne.
- Funding Impact: Every ticket sold and all proceeds generated from the evening will be split between SASBAH and St Wilfrid's Hospice.
- Date & Time: Thursday, 18 June 2026, starting at 7:00 PM.
- Location: Glass House restaurant, situated on the Eastbourne Seafront.
- Host: Ryan Millns from Ashdown Radio.
How the Support Benefits SASBAH:-
SASBAH currently supports more than 1,000 disabled individuals across Sussex from its central hub at The JPK Project in Old Town, Eastbourne. Chief Executive Rom Sanglaji highlighted that the funding and community visibility from the awards will vitalise the small charity’s core services, which include:
- Work Placement Schemes: Partnering with local businesses to provide essential vocational training.
- Social and Digital Inclusion: Running regular support groups, including a weekly Wednesday evening social club.
- Respite and Leisure: Offering tailored holidays for community members and relief care for families and carers.

The awards feature 13 nomination categories—including the "Above and Beyond" category. While voting and nominations took place through the spring, final updates and ticketing details are managed via the Sussex Audiology Centre Awards Portal and Bournefree Magazine's official channels
