Three arrested following police pursuit in East Sussex

Three people, including a 15-year-old boy, were arrested on Sunday, 22 March 2026, following a short police pursuit in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

The incident began after reports of an assault and suspicious behavior involving a car.

Officers from the Sussex Police Roads Policing Unit spotted the vehicle on the A22 and brought it to a stop in The Rising after a brief chase. 

Arrest Details:-

According to Sussex Police, the following individuals were taken into custody:-

• 44-year-old man: Arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault.
• 15-year-old boy: Arrested on suspicion of assault and drug driving.
• 36-year-old woman: Arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving. 

Safeguarding:-

Three young children were also found in the vehicle at the time of the pursuit. Officers worked with partner agencies to provide them with appropriate safeguarding measures. 

As of Monday morning, 23 March 2026, all three suspects remain in custody.
