From Councillor Chris Bryant
“I hope you enjoyed a pleasant Christmas break with your families and loved ones.
As we begin a new year, many of us are still feeling the strain of the cost of living. Even so, this is a natural moment to look ahead with hope and consider the positive changes that 2026 may bring to our lives.
The New Year marks a fresh start and an opportunity to aim higher. For me, it is an exciting time as I look forward with real optimism to what the coming months will bring for our wonderful town.
As Town Mayor, I am honoured to serve and represent the people of Hailsham. I look forward to being out in the community and meeting as many of you as possible at the civic events planned for the months ahead. Every conversation, every visit and every shared moment helps shape our town’s future and reminds me of the strength and spirit that make Hailsham such a special place to live.
I will continue to visit local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations that work tirelessly to support others and brighten the lives of many. Their dedication is inspiring and their work often goes unseen, but it is vital in helping individuals and families through difficult times. I am confident that the warm-hearted people of Hailsham will continue to stand together and support those who need help most throughout 2026.
At the same time, we remain committed to nurturing a town where people feel proud to live and work. Whether through improvements to public spaces, support for local initiatives or close collaboration with community partners, we will continue to build on our strengths and address the challenges we face together.
Whatever the future brings, I can assure residents of this. My New Year’s resolution, shared by the Town Council, is to show renewed determination to work tirelessly for the people of Hailsham and for our wider community. We will continue to listen, respond and act in the best interests of our town.
My fellow councillors and I wish you a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year. May 2026 bring you opportunities, encouragement and the confidence to reach your goals.”
