Last Friday it was decided that the Uckfield Festival Association charity shall cease operation with immediate effect
This means that there will be no Festival Week this year.
The Association's Director, Bernard Tagliavini says: "The Uckfield Festival, which began life in 2000, will no longer be presented in the town.
We have tried very hard in recent years to attract new, and younger, people to join the organising committee with only limited success.
With no-one left to run the show the charity has been closed.
I want to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who has supported Festival through the years - local businesses, the stall-holders, granting bodies, the committee members, and, of course, the people of the town"
