Weekend Sporting Preview

It's good luck to everyone taking part in the Brighton Marathon this weekend!

AFC Uckfield Town play their final home game of the season in the Southern Combination Premier Division, as they entertain Alfold.

After their excellent League Cup semi-final victory in midweek, there’s no game for Crowborough Athletic this weekend.  But Jarvis Brook are in action – they’re away at Rottingdean in Division Two of the Southern Combination League.

In the Mid Sussex League, Rotherfield visit Lindfield. 

Ridgewood take on Crawley Devils on the Uckfield All-weather pitch.  Nutley travel to East Grinstead to face Open Arms, while Hartfield are away at Crowborough Athletic’s third team.

There’s a crucial game for Lewes, as they visit fellow play-off contenders Cheshunt in the Isthmian Premier Division.

In thePremier League, Brighton and Hove Albion face a tough test at Arsenal, as the Seagulls look to halt their slide which has seen them gain just one point from their last seven matches.

There are no fixtures this weekend for Lewes’ and Brighton’s ladies teams.

In cricket, Buxted Park begin their pre-season friendly programme tomorrow afternoon with a home match against Haywards Heath.

Meanwhile, Sussex’s county team enjoyed a good opening day to their new Championship campaign against Nottinghamshire at the County Ground Hove yesterday.  Sussex go into day two on a healthy 302 for six.
