Weekend Sporting Preview

In local football, there’s no game this weekend for AFC Uckfield Town.

Crowborough Athletic are in action, as they host Midhurst and Easebourne in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.

In Division Two of the Southern Combination League, Jarvis Brook are at home to Upper Beeding.  Meanwhile, in the Mid Sussex League, Ridgewood’s first team are without a game, but Ridgewood’s second eleven are taking on Uckfield United on the Uckfield All-weather pitch.

Elsewhere, Buxted host Crawley Devils.  League leaders Nutley entertain Burgess Hill Rhinos.  Newick are at home to Eastbourne Rangers Reserves, while Barcombe host Fletching and Maresfield have a home clash against DCK Reserves.

And there are away fixtures this week for Rotherfield, Hartfield and Plumpton.

After their disappointing FA Cup exit in midweek, Lewes revert to league matters this weekend with a visit to Billericay.

Meanwhile, after three successive draws, Lewes’ ladies team host Sheffield United on Sunday lunchtime.  Brighton’s ladies are also in action, as they welcome Reading to the Amex Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

In local rugby, Uckfield make the short trip to arch rivals East Grinstead tomorrow afternoon, while Crowborough are at home to Heathfield and Waldron and Newick meet Eastbourne’s third team.
